BlackJack Bust Calculator
Finally, I've made up a little utility to tell you the odds of you busting. I think it's pretty fun to play...

This program will tell you your chance of busting and extimate what the dealer's going to get. It's still beta.

Your hand:
Chance of busting
0%

Dealer's Card:
Odds of dealer getting
17: 18: 19: 20: 21: Bust:
0%
0%
0%
0%
0%
0%

How to use the calculator
I was just looking at this blackjack calculator. Man, that was alot of code that I wrote... You're probably wondering how to use it. The top bit gives the chances of you busting. The bottom bit given the chances of the dealer busting. The chance of you winning if you stay is = to 100% -the change of the dealer busting. If the dealer has a 35% chance of busting, you have a 100-35% chance of winning if you stay.

In this example, if the chances of you busting are close to 25-30%you should stay, if not, go for it.

You're almost ready! You might also want to try out this BlackJack Strategy card. It tells you when to hit, stand and dance for joy because you've won so much! This table should be rather self explanatory.
H = hit
D = double
S = Stand

BLACKJACK STRATEGY CHART

Winning at BlackJack
Many books have been written that claim that BJ is beatable. My question is this... Is Blackjack a breatable game? Can I make money playing flash blackjack?

Simulations performed by people in the rec.gamblers newsgroup show that there are different amounts of potential player advantage in theory in BJ, depending on strategies, exact rules, and playing conditions.

The numbers typically approach 1% (an average penny gain for every dollar bet) though in certain particular, ideal circumstances this player advantage can get significantly higher. There is some disagreement on the internet regarding just how much an advantage this player edge translates into in "real-world" casinos, but it's generally believed that players can play with a small, long-run advantage in BJ.

Any BlackJack comments? I've included some random flash games below...

BlackJack Flash Game - Other Rules and How they effect the Payouts
To Win at Blackjack, you need to know what the Casino's Won't Tell You!

When you play blackjack, there are certain things you need to be aware of in terms of how the rules of the game affect your profit potential.

Casinos are NOT going to tell you that the chances of making money on their game are less than if you play against their competitors!

So, what is it that you need to know in order to play the game of blackjack in a way that gives you the best odds against the casino?

Well, you need to look at the rules that the casino offers for each blackjack game, and use them to your advantage along with the basic strategy.

Basic Strategy
Basic strategy is mathematically proven to cut the casino edge in blackjack if played correctly.

The casino's initial edge in the game is 5.75%, but by using basic strategy correctly, it is possible to reduce the casino edge to around 0.5%

Increasing Your Advantage Further - Look for Favourable Rules
A player can increase their advantage using basic strategy further by card counting, which shifts the odds of success in their favour.

For card counting to be effective, a player needs to play blackjack games with favourable rules.

Here are some rule variations and the effect that they have on a player's long-term profits.

Favourable Rules for the Player
Early surrender                            +0.62%
Late surrender Single deck            +0.02%
Double down after splitting            +0.13%
Drawing to split aces                    +0.14%
Re splitting of aces                       +0.03%
Double down cards any number       +0.20%
2:1 payoff blackjack                     +2.32%

Unfavourable Rules for the Player
no doubling on hard 11                  -0.89%
no doubling on hard 10                  -0.56%
no doubling on hard 9                    -0.14%
no doubling soft hands                   -0.14%
dealer hits soft 17                         -0.20%
dealer takes no hole card                -0.13%
2 decks (v single)                          -0.35%
4 decks (v single)                          -0.51%
6 decks (v single)                          -0.60%
pairs no re splitting                        -0.05%

The conclusion from this is obvious:
Correct Play + Favourable Rules = Optimum Advantage for Players

An Example of the Casino Edge in Card Counting
Let's look at card counting and the influence of the casino rules in relation to the number of decks. This is a critical consideration for any player before they play a game. Card counting is the only way to get the odds in a player's favor.

With a single deck game, player against the dealer - a +2 count is a 2% advantage to the player. If the number of decks is increased, then we have more cards to be dealt, which in turn increases the number of cards left, which then reduces the odds of success for the player.

Blackjack Card Counting is based on Probability
Card counting does not attempt to "predict" the card sequence; it is simply looking at the probability of cards coming out the deck.

Obviously, the more cards to be dealt the less effective a probability theory such as card counting will be.

Card counting is the only way to get the edge away from the casino and favorable to the player, so it is important to play with the most favorable rules that you can, in order to maximize your bankroll and payouts.

It does not matter how well you can card count if the rules are against you! Your skills will not be used to their full potential in terms of getting payouts.

Finally, here's 8 Blackjack myth's that quite often cause people to lose money. Remember these myths, figure out how to use the slight changes in the rules, and use the blackjack strategy chart mentioned above, and you will win. It's not that easy, but if you can do it correctly, you'll win!

The Eight Blackjack Myths that Lose You Money If you believe any of the following blackjack myths, you will lose money. Don't make that error!

Myth 1: The aim of blackjack is to get as close to 21 as possible This is NOT the object of the game. The object is to beat the dealer's hand.

Often, the best strategy is to stand depending on your hand and the dealer's up card. Many people lose a hand because they hit their hands, when according to basic strategy they should stand.

Myth 2: bad players cause you to lose Other players have no effect on your winning or losing long term.

It is true that stupid plays made by stupid players can affect the outcome of a hand for everyone else, but it can be proved mathematically that it is just as likely that this could result in the entire table winning.

Myth 3: Always take insurance if you have a blackjack Insurance is the stupidest bet in blackjack. If a person were to take insurance every time that they had a blackjack, then they would be giving up 13 percent of the profit that a blackjack pays.

In order for a player simply to break even with insurance, you would have to guess correctly 1 in 3 times, and there not good odds!

Only if you are card counting should you ever even consider taking insurance.

Myth 4: The dealer is HOT Mathematically speaking, when you are winning, the deck composition is in your favor, and when you are losing, it is not in your favor.

The dealer has no choices to make; they simply follow the house rules. You as a player do have choices, and it is your choices that determine how successful you will be.

Myth 5: People entering the game in the middle of a shoe can cause you to lose This is actually the same as a player taking an extra card, or a player leaving in the middle of the game. Neither of which causes you to lose.

Myth 6: You are due a win soon. The dealer has won ten hands consecutively - you will win soon.

The chance of the player winning the next hand is independent of what happened before.

Eventually of course, the number of hands you will win will be around 48%, but this can be over a very long period! In the short term, i.e a single playing session, the previous hands are irrelevant.

Myth 7: The deuce (2) is the most favorable card for the dealer Not true. We notice the deuce because it makes the dealers hand frequently, because there is only one card that can "bust" the hand, (10), if the total is 12.

Mathematically, players lose more when the "up card" the dealer has is an Ace or a 10.

Myth 8: Don't split 9, 9 against the dealer's 9, you're making two bad hands When the player has 9 & 9 against the dealer's 9, the player has 18. This doesn't beat 19 as of course we assume that the dealer has a 10 in the hole.

It is proven mathematically a player will lose less money by splitting the 9's than by standing.

great than 100% payouts with flash blackjack??!?! (none / 0) (#1)
by Anonymous Hero on Sun Apr 16, 2006 at 12:00:43 AM PST
Commodore casino just came out with a cool three 7 of spaces bonus that puts the payout over 100% as long as you can follow a flash blackjack strategy chart.

Basically, if you get three 7 or spaces in your hand,  you win 5 grand. Admittedly, the odds of getting this hand aren't to great. But if you play enough hands, you'll get it eventually. The trick is that the $5,000 prize doesn't depend on how much you bet. So if you bet the minimum, this prize puts the payout over 100%. here's how it works...

In general, when you play flash blackjack based on a good strategy card, the payout is around 95%. The 2:1 payout on flash blackjack pushes the odds closer to 98%. The "Three [3] - 7's of Spades" bonus is like an extra 0.35 cents/hand. If you're playing $0.10 hands, the "Three [3] - 7's of Spades" bonus increases the odds by 3.5%. The total odds become 101%!

What this means is this. If you play flash BlackJack with $0.10 hands, and play according to a good strategy card, eventually, you should make money. The thing that puts the odds over the %100 barrier is the Three [3] - 7's of Spades bonus. In order to get this bonus, you'll have to play a fair number of hands. Still, it means that eventually, you'll come out ahead.

What more could you ask for?

The "Three [3] - 7's of Spades" bonus is like an extra 0.35 cents/hand.

Hmmm, if a $5,000 bonus is worth 35 cents/hand,

5,000/.35 = 14,285 hands!! You mean I've got to to play 14 thousand hands to get this bonus?

Part of me is like, cool. Flash blackjack with greater than 100% payouts! The other part of me is like, "man, it's going to take awhile to get my prize...

It means that if you sign up and play, eventually, you'll come out ahead. This is the type of odds that I like:)

It's not that hard to do this...

The 35% bonuses that you get mid-week aren't bad at all. It blows me away that people still play flash blackjack at land casinos when they could play flash blackjack online???? It just doesn't make sense. I mean why whould you do that?

Gotta love them flash blackjack sign up bonuses. Nothing like a free $200 in chips!

Yup. There are some wager requirements, but all in all, it's a good system (and an easy way to make some cash and have fun doing it).

I figured out that it's possible to use bonus rules to push the payouts at flash blackjack over 100%.

--
PREMISE:  Use perfect flash blackjack strategy to put odds of winning money in your favor by attempting to "steal" the bonus money offered by the online casino's.  Use the "loophole" in the rules to EARN lots of cash!

Example:  Commodore Casino:  buy $100, get $100 free for a total of $200.  The minimum wager requirement is 10x's. A 10x wager requirement mean you  have to wager a total of $2000 dollars (10x's $100 bonus plus 10x's $100 deposit) in total bets.  Don't worry, it's not that hard to meet these wager requirements because ALL bets count towards the requirement, wins AND losses.  The house edge at Commodore Casino is usually around 0.40%.  $2000 x 0.40% is $8.00 (Remember, this is 0.40%, LESS than 1.0%).  That's the amount you are predicted to lose if you follow the strategy card and make wagers on flash blackjack totaling $2000.  Subtract the $8 from the free $100 in bonus money the casino gave you and your profits total an amazing $92. Don't understand?

What's The Catch?  The casinos simply don't believe you will follow all these steps to win money.  Either you won't follow the flash blackjack strategy, you'll keep on playing after meeting the wager requirements, or you'll try other games with poor odds.  Prove them wrong!  Be smart, follow the steps.

Why does it Work?  Because the casino gave you FREE money to start playing.  Although the odds of flash blackjack itself are in the casino's favor, the odds of winning money at the casino are in YOUR favor if you follow these steps: use a strategy card, and bet small.

Bottom Line? You will have an edge over the casinos to win money. You will have an 82% chance of beating the casino.  The average player will win at least $90 per casino under these rules and strategy.  If you're a math geek, I can email you the proof for this method.

I'm going to come out and say this. All these bonuses are well and good. They give you free money here, free money there and you get the occasional comp too. Commodore casino bought me a free trip to Vegas a while back. It was really fun.

But here's my point. I play because it's really fun. I love gambling. There I said it. I just really like the excitement. I think it's fine to really enjoy gambling. It's just that there's a problem. You'll lose your shirt gambling in vegas.

So my solution is to play online. I have hours of fun. Yes, sometime I lose. But I also win sometimes. At the end of the month, I might be down a hundred bucks, or I might be up $200.

Commodore casinos (and playing online in general) is a way for me to gamble, and not really lose any money doing it.

That's all I ask for in a casino, and I'm happy that commodore casino can provide it for me.

I like the Black Jack software. And I like the casinos. I particularily like the bit where you get a free $10 bonus just to register the software.

The free $200 I got on my first deposit was great too! Thumbs up to the casino.

I know that they screwed up and put the payout on 5cent BJ hands at 101%. Does anyone know of a way to tweak the payout on flash blackjack to over 100% too?

Forgive me, I'm a math major and don't believe in luck. When I play, I only do so with the odds in my favor. I notice that there's nothing like payouts over 100% to make someone "lucky"

I don't know. If you're serious about making money, the three 7 of spades $5000 prize definately raises the odds for their blackjack game over 100%.

I think that there is a parallel with the slots. The long term payout of slots is around 99%. This long term payout assumes that you play long enough to hit a fairly sizeable jackpot. Something on the order of $2,000-10,000. Once you hit the jackpot, the payout on the slots is around 99%. Before you hit a jackpot, the short term payout of flash blackjack is 95%.

The short term flash blackjack payout (the stuff you experience on your day to day play before you hit a jackpot) is around 95%.

The trick is to use the deposit bonues to increase the short term payout to over 96%.

Alas, to get that jackpot, you need make alot of bets. You'll probably be down $1,000-$2,000 dollars.

But, all is not lost. The jackpot will push your long term payout up by 4%. If you can maintain a short term payout of over 96% (using the deposit bonuses) the jackpot will push you over the magical 100% point. Then, all will be right with the world, and we can all be happy and joyful. Except for casino owners. They will be scratching their heads and wondering what went wrong with their beautiful money making machine...

So, the answer to the question is yes. Just make sure that you're always getting a deposit bonus. Luckily, Commodore casino generally gives repeat players a 125% deposit bonus.

You depost $100 and you get $125 worth of chips.

If you bet once, you'd get the following payout:

  1. Deposit $100
  2. get $125 worth of chips.
  3. $125 x (95% payout odds) = $118 payout.
  4. $118 winnings on a $100 deposit = 118% payout.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. You have to make 8x wager requirements, so that free $25 bonus is really spread over $800 of wagers. So, it's really only going to raise the payout by 25% / 8 = 3.1%.
  1. Deposit $100
  2. get $125 worth of chips.
  3. make $825 worth of bets x (95% payout odds) = $783 payout.
  4. you get $783 winnings on a $825 bets. $800 of which was your money.
  5. Payout = $783/$800 = 97.6%.

Now the key thing to remember is that hitting the jackpot will raise the payout by 4%. So,

97.6% + 4% = 101.9%!!! Yeah baby :)

> Forgive me, I'm a math major and don't believe in luck. When I play, I only do so with the odds in my favor. I notice that there's nothing like payouts over 100% to make someone "lucky"
I feel the same way... That's why I play at Commodore casino.

The key thing is to have disipline, and only make deposits when you can get $125 for each $100 you deposit.
